Ice Caves – Apostle Islands National Lakeshore on Lake Superior

We’re thinking about heading up to the Bayfield – Ashland area this winter to have a look at the ice caves. We’ve never been, which is something I’m not so proud of, considering I’m a Wisconsin native.

They’re beautiful, and every year they’re different.

The Lake Superior region offers so much breathtaking scenery – I can’t get enough of it.

If you’ve been to the ice caves, let me know what you think! Where did you stay?

I forgot the links! So sorry!
They work now Erin, you can click on a picture and it takes you to their source. The first picture is from Squidoo.com, the second is from szg55′s wallpaper album on Photobucket and the last picture is from the weather blog from WAOW TV in Wausau.

I’ll bet you’ve seen a lot of pictures indeed Erin! Lucky :)

I found all of these last week in Google images, there are some amazing pictures of the caves there. Wow.

I sure would love to spend time in that area and visit those ice caves. A friend just told me about them today and said something about finding some on our side of the lake also. I will look for them when i go that way.
Thanks for showing the beauties of nature.

Oh, I hope you and Russ go!

I’ve never been there but it looks like somewhere everyone should go at least once. How can nature be so beautiful without even trying! Natural occuring beauty such as this is overwhelming.

Thank you for sharing and again, I hope you find the time to head up that way. Just think of the photos you could bring home.

Have a thrilling Thursday or at least a fun one.
